About

Brittany Ater, LMFTA

I love supporting individual and relational clients who are: - Navigating a life transition - Processing grief - Healing from trauma - Exploring identity, meaning, and fulfillment in their lives - Longing for repair and reconnection in their relationship(s) - Seeking deeper understanding and acceptance of their sexuality and desires - Wanting to enhance pleasure and intimacy in their lives - Practicing or exploring alternative relationship structures - Hoping to discern if their relationship(s) are serving them I am a relational, experiential, and attachment-based therapist, centering a warm, yet directive presence, emotion, curiosity and humor in our work together. I strive to bring my authentic self into the therapy room so that you may feel safe to do the same. This may look like holding your uncertainty and sadness together in one moment, and laughing together the next. I care deeply for my clients and consider it a privilege to support others in strengthening their sense of self, relationship(s) and sexuality using a compassionate, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental lens. I am queer-,kink-, and non-monogamous-affirming. Being in relationship with others is one of the most profound and beautiful experiences we have as humans. It can also be one of the most confusing, and at times, heartbreaking. It all belongs, and it would be an honor to figure it out together. I know it takes a lot of courage to begin therapy, and I’m so glad you’re here. I encourage you to reach out for an initial consultation so we can take this first step together.
